Children visiting the Illinois Valley Community Hospital (IVCH) will see a new pediatrician there, according to a press release from the hospital.
Dr. Anju Patel has joined the staff of the IVCH after completing a residency at Bronson Children's Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Patel, who grew up in Belleville, earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois and her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine.
She joins a medical team that includes Dr. Mark Fernandez, Dr. Michelle Vasquez, certified nurse midwife and family nurse practitioner Elizabeth Birkey, and family nurse practitioner Jennifer Olesen.
