The Brimfield Public Library has been award a $19,460 grant through Project Next Generation, according to an announcement by state Rep. Ryan Spain (R-Peoria).

The grants, administered by Illinois State Librarian Jesse White, help public libraries in underprivileged communities help their patrons by providing computer access for job searches, government programs and long-distance learning.

“I am grateful that a library in my district, especially one the caliber of the Brimfield Public Library, has been selected to receive this funding,” Spain said.  “I have been working with area libraries since being sworn in in January to partner for my annual Summer Reading Club as well as recently hosting 'Open Office' hours at the Chillicothe Public Library.  Our libraries are a great community asset for all ages.”
