Marseilles City Council met Oct. 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Roll call showed the following present: Commissioner Hollenbeck, Lewey, Davis, and Buckingham. Absent: Mayor Trager.

Moved by Commissioner Davis seconded by Commissioner Lewey that the minutes from the Council meeting of October 4, 2017 be approved as displayed and placed on file. Ayes: Commissioner Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Pro Tem Hollenbeck. Nays: None

Moved by Commissioner Buckingham seconded by Commissioner Davis that the accounts payable for the first half of October in the amount of $75,584.86 be approved and a warrant be drawn on the City Treasury for the said amount. Ayes: Commissioner Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Pro Tem Hollenbeck. Nays: None

Moved by Commissioner Davis seconded by Commissioner Lewey that the payroll for the first half of October in the amount of $58,875.53 be approved and a warrant be drawn on the City Treasury for said amount. Ayes: Commissioner Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Pro Tem Hollenbeck. Nays: None

Moved by Commissioner Lewey seconded by Commissioner Buckingham that the monthly department reports for September be approved and placed on file. Ayes: Commissioner Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Pro Tem Hollenbeck. Nays: None

Moved by Commissioner Lewey seconded by Commissioner Buckingham that the home business license renewal for Karen Sweet DBA Karen’s Beauty Shop be approved. Ayes: Commissioner Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Pro Tem Hollenbeck. Nays: None

Moved by Commissioner Davis seconded by Commissioner Lewey that Ordinance 1644, an Ordinance revising parking schedules be adopted. Ayes: Commissioner Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Pro Tem Hollenbeck. Nays: None

Moved by Commissioner Buckingham seconded by Commissioner Davis that Ordinance 1645, an Ordinance authorizing purchase of a 2016 Ford Transit Van be adopted. Ayes: Commissioner Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Pro Tem Hollenbeck. Nays: None

Moved by Commissioner Davis seconded by Commissioner Buckingham that the proposal for ComEd for 10 street lights at Timber Edge subdivision be approved. Ayes: Commissioner Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Pro Tem Hollenbeck. Nays: None

Commissioner Lewey announced Trick or Treating hours are 5-7 PM Halloween 10/31/17. Commissioner Buckingham said there will be clean up days starting, Thursday October 26 – Saturday October 28, 2017.

Joe Putnam asked the council if they will allow Freedom Fest 2018. Mayor Pro Tem Hollenbeck reminded Mr. Putnam a special events permit must be submitted to council and all EMS personnel to vote on.

Moved by Commissioner Davis seconded by Commissioner Lewey that the City Council adjourns. Ayes: Commissioners Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Pro Tem Hollenbeck. Nays: None
