The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Central Illinois Chapter recently honored Patricia Seiber of Utica for her fundraising efforts on behalf of single mothers and nursing students for the Illinois Valley Community College (IVCC) Foundation.
“Pat has taken our foundation’s mission out into the community,” IVCC President Jerry Corcoran said in a an IVCC press release. “The hard work she’s put in to build her scholarship fund is inspirational.”
Seibert won the Lewis J. Burger Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser award at the AFP’s annual luncheon at East Peoria’s Par-A-Dice Hotel-Casino, the release said. Since 2012, she has raised $36,000 for the Patricia Seibert Take a Step Up Scholarship, which has helped students in IVCC’s nursing, criminal justice and health care programs. Seibert was previously honored by IVCC, winning the school’s Spirit Award in 2015.
“For the countless hours she’s devoted to single moms, for the thousands of miles she’s traveled in raising donations, and for all the personal appeals she’s made to make her scholarship a reality, it is an honor to present Pat Seibert this award,” IVCC Director of Community Relations and Development Fran Brolley said when presenting Seibert with the Spirit Award, the release said. “We cannot think of anyone who demonstrates our college’s spirit better.”
