Marseilles City Council met Dec. 6.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Roll call showed the following present: Mayor Trager, Commissioner Hollenbeck, Lewey, Davis and Buckingham. Absent: None.

Public hearing was held in regards to proposed federal funded community development block grant (CDBG)

Public hearing was adjourned

The City Council of the City of Marseilles met in the City Chamber of City Hall at the hour of 6:00 P.M. on December 6, 2017.

Roll call showed the following present: Mayor Trager, Commissioner Hollenbeck, Lewey, Davis and Buckingham. Absent: None.

Moved by Commissioner Hollenbeck seconded by Commissioner Lewey that the minutes from the council meeting of November 15, 2017 be approved as displayed and placed on file. Ayes: Commissioner Hollenbeck, Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Trager. Nays: None

Moved by Commissioner Hollenbeck seconded by Commissioner Buckingham that the accounts payable for the last half of November in the amount of $176,375.30 be approved and a warrant be drawn on the City Treasury for the said amount. Ayes: Commissioner Hollenbeck, Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Trager. Nays: None

Moved by Commissioner Hollenbeck seconded by Commissioner Davis that the payroll for the last half of November in the amount of $63,716.61 be approved and a warrant be drawn on the City Treasury for said amount. Ayes: Commissioner Hollenbeck, Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Trager. Nays: None

Moved by Commissioner Hollenbeck seconded by Commissioner Lewey that Resolution 2017-21, a resolution of council support for a community development block grant be adopted. Ayes: Commissioners Hollenbeck, Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Trager. Nays: None.

Moved by Commissioner Hollenbeck seconded by Commissioner Lewey that Ordinance 1647, an ordinance authorizing the establishment of interested parties registries and adopting rules for such registries for redevelopment project areas in the City of Marseilles be adopted. Ayes: Commissioners Hollenbeck, Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Trager. Nays: None.

Moved by Commissioner Hollenbeck seconded by Commissioner Davis that Ordinance 1648, an Ordinance calling for a public hearing and a joint review board meeting to consider the designation of a redevelopment project area and the approval of a redevelopment plan and project for the City of Marseilles downtown Tax Increment Financing District TIF 5 be adopted. Ayes: Commissioners Hollenbeck, Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Trager. Nays: None.

Moved by Commissioner Hollenbeck seconded by Commissioner Buckingham that Ordinance 1649, Tax Levy Ordinance 2017-2018 be placed on file. Ayes: Commissioners Hollenbeck, Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Trager. Nays: None.

Moved by Commissioner Lewey seconded by Commissioner Buckingham that Resolution 2017-22, a Resolution appointing Jeannie Gabehart to the Marseilles Police Pension Board be adopted. Ayes: Commissioner Hollenbeck, Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Trager. Nays: None.

Moved by Commissioner Davis seconded by Commissioner Lewey that the contract with COMED for electrical services at 1115 Lakin Ave. be approved and payment be made in the amount of $42,932.50. Ayes: Commissioner Hollenbeck, Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Trager. Nays: None.

Chief Hovious let the council know the Police Association and the Marseilles Recreation Board is working together to establish a splash pad in town.

Moved by Mayor Trager that the bids for the 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix be tabled.

Moved by Commissioner Davis seconded by Commissioner Buckingham that the final pay estimate to Opperman Construction for the Young Street project in the amount of $27,225.27 be approved. Ayes: Commissioner Hollenbeck, Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, and Mayor Trager. Nays: None.

Commissioner Lewey said the shop with a cop will be taking 18 children. Commissioner Davis reminded residents to look for snow routes. Also, considering of making Lincoln and Aurora Street a 4 way stop.

Moved by Commissioner Davis seconded by Commissioner Buckingham that the City Council adjourns. Ayes: Commissioners Hollenbeck, Lewey, Davis, Buckingham, Mayor Trager. Nays: None
