Illinois Valley Community Hospital (IVCH) in Peru is offering a free series of classes on prepared childbirth for soon-to-be mothers.
The first class in the series will start at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at the IVCH office at 1305 Sixth St. with the classes continuing on Jan. 17, 24 and 31. The initial two classes will be about labor and delivery, an IVCH release said. The third class will focus on breast feeding, and the final class will be about caring for a baby, safety with car seats and instruction on performing CPR on a newborn.
Women in last trimester of their pregnancy are welcome to attend the classes along with their partners.
