Wallace Community Consolidated School District 195 Board met Nov. 24.
Here is the minutes provided by the Board:
Wallace Grade School Board of Education President Bill Vogel called the meeting to order. Roll call was taken and members present were: Vogel, Keene, Mangold, Miller, Evola, and Armstrong. Absent was Carroll.
Bill Keene made a motion and Vince Evola seconded to approve the minutes from the October 25, 2017 meeting. In favor, Vogel, Keene, Mangold, Miller, Evola, and Armstrong.
Visitors present at the meeting were Mollie Nagle, and Dawn Maguire. Mrs. Maguire and Mrs. Nagle reported to the board on the recent activities at school.
Mr. Hambleton reviewed the treasurer’s report. John Armstrong made a motion and Bill Keene seconded to approve the treasurer’s report. In favor, Vogel, Keene, Mangold, Miller, Evola, and Armstrong.
Mr. Matteson reviewed the monthly bills. Tom Miller made a motion and Rick Mangold seconded to approve payment of the bills. In favor, Vogel, Keene, Mangold, Miller, Evola, and Armstrong.
Mr. Matteson gave the Superintendent’s report. He gave a budget update. He reported the State still owes us $52, 314. He also said our investment account earned 1.27% in October. We made $614 for the month and the year to date is $6,325. Mr. Matteson said the EAV estimate was an increase of 3.1%. The levy hearing will be at 5:30PM on December 20, 2017.
Tom Miller made a motion and Vince Evola seconded to approve the resolution abating the tax levied for the 2017 year. (See attached copy) In favor, Vogel, Keene, Mangold, Miller, Evola, and Armstrong.
Bill Keene made a motion and John Armstrong seconded to approve Eliot Fronczak as assistant 7th/8th grade boys basketball coach. In favor, Vogel, Keene, Mangold, Miller, Evola, and Armstrong.
Bill Keene made a motion and Tom Miller seconded to approve the 1st reading of the following policies: 6.280, 6.340, 7.340, 2.20E, 2.250E, 6.60, 7.260, 2.260, 4.150, 5.10, 5.20, 5.100, 7.10, 7.20, 7.180, 5.90, 4.240, 5.290. In favor, Vogel, Keene, Mangold, Miller, Evola, and Armstrong.
Mr. Matteson reviewed the Principal’s report. He said the Robotics team will compete on December 9, 2017. He also said what a great season the girls’ basketball team had. Mr. Matteson said the Band/Choir Concert will be on December 14, 2017 and the Christmas Program will be on December 20, 2017 following the board meeting. School dismiss’ at 1:30 on December 22, 2017 and resumes on January 8, 2018.
John Armstrong made a motion and Bill Keene seconded to approve Sarah Evola as assistant volleyball coach for the 2017-18 season. In favor, Vogel, Miller, Keene, Mangold, Evola and Armstrong.
At 7:32PM Tom Miller made a motion and Bill Keene seconded to adjourn the meeting. In favor, Vogel, Miller, Keene, Mangold, Evola, and Armstrong.
