The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m.

A moment of silence was held for Larry Fisher good friend to the City of La Salle for many years.

Approval Of Minutes:
Moved by Alderman Demes and seconded by Alderman Reynolds that the minutes of the regular City Council meeting held on Monday, December 18, 2017 are accepted and placed on file. Each and every alderman has a copy. Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
Petitions:
Moved by Alderman Ptak and seconded by Alderman Lavieri to accept the recommendation of the Finance Committee and deny the request from the Central Region Senior Baseball Tournament Committee for a monetary sponsorship of the 2018 Central States Tournament being held July 20-July 25, 2018. Moved by Alderman Duncan and seconded by Alderman Lavieri to grant the request of Ameren Illinois to break ground at 14 Gunia Drive for electric, gas service and main extension. Each and every alderman has a copy.

Moved by Alderman Duncan and seconded by Alderman Reynolds to grant the request of the Illinois Valley Alzheimer’s Group Inc. and LP Matmen Inc. for 2018 Raffle Licenses. Each and every alderman has a copy.

Moved by Alderman Duncan and seconded by Alderman Ptak to grant the request of Chrissie Frost and Jessica Heiberger leaders of Girl Scout Troop #1812 to sell cookies at Casey’s on Saturday, February 3, 2018 and at IV Food Center on Sunday, February 4, 2018.

Reports Of City Officers:
Moved by Alderman Bacidore and seconded by Alderman Lavieri to accept and place on file the Building Inspector’s Report for November 2017 showing total fees collected of $600 with total value of construction of $149,200. Each and every alderman has a copy.

Old Business:
Alderman Schneider commended the Public Works, Police and Fire Department for their efforts during the recent cold weather.
New Business:
Prior to the vote, Alderman Lavieri clarified that the grant award will be used for commercial purposes.
