The Mayor asked for comments from the public. Cedar Point Mayor, Lance Korter addressed the Council. He said that the Village of Cedar Point had well issues and that Oglesby provided 281,000 gallons of water. He said that if it wasn’t for cities like Oglesby (amongst others) they would have been in dire straights. He then thanked the City for helping them out.
Commissioner and Mayor’s Report:
Commissioner Rivara said that he is working with IMEA in regards to a program for interruptible rates. He said there are three places that are potential users of this special program, the City water towers, Buzzi, and Wire Mesh. He said he was told there could be substantial savings for the City. He is going to continue to research it and if it’s something we can benefit from he will set up meetings between the City and the companies.
