City of Peru Public Services Committee met Feb. 12.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT: Alderman Dave Waldorf Chairman, Alderman Jim Lukosus, Alderman Mike Sapienza, Alderman Ballard, and Mayor Harl.

OTHER PERSONS PRESENT: City Clerk Dave Bartley, PSM Jeff King, ASM Doug Bernabei,

Don Kowalczyk of T.E.S.T., Electric Department General Foreman Kye Kaszynski, Mike Perry of Chamlin & Associates, Economic Development Director Bob Vickrey and Ashley Kostos.

MINU

ELECTRIC

Alderman Lukosus made a motion to approve purchase of wire from Springfield Electric in the amount of $5,836.35 for Washington Park. Chairman Waldorf seconded. All in favor; motion carried. Electric Department General Foreman Kye Kaszynski stated the city will get the money back through IEMA.

LANDFILL

None

AIRPORT

None

CEMETERY

Members discussed a recent quote to clean and polish the terrazzo floors at the mausoleum.

After interior work is complete, exterior work such as fence, parking, and landscaping can be addressed.

PARKS & RECREATION

City Clerk Bartley announced Peru Little League received the maximum amount of $20,000 from a grant to be used towards new lights?

CODE ENFORCEMENT/BUILDING & ZONING

ASM Bernabei announces the code enforcement officer will start two weeks from today and once he learns the role, will be providing reports and updates.

ENGINEERING

Mike Perry of Chamlin & Associates reported there will be a pre-bid meeting next week for the North Peoria Watermain project and the bid opening will take place the following week.

BUILDINGS & GROUNDS

Awarding Fire Department Re-Roofing bid to J.L. Adler Roofing in the amount of $109,600.00 was discussed; it will be part of the budget and is going to full council for approval.

OLD BUSINESS

NEW BUSINESS

Economic Development Director Bob Vickrey reported there has been a lot of activity and interest in Peru. He added some Chinese came to a luncheon hosted at Starved Rock. They reported they liked the area because of the agricultural opportunities.

An alderman asked about a semi-trailer that has been left on an empty lot where there has been some interest. The issue will be investigated.

Chairman Waldorf made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Alderman Lukosus seconded the motion; motion carried.
