Analysis: Mendota pays $3.15 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Mendota Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 75.9 percent of the $136,581 the Mendota Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.15 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Mendota contributed $103,673 to the fund, which saw a $757 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $32,908, or 24.1 percent, in 2016.
