Analysis: Mendota pays $4.31 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Mendota Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 81.2 percent of the $477,086 the Mendota Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.31 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Mendota contributed $387,396 to the fund, which saw a $755 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $89,690, or 18.8 percent, in 2016.
