Analysis: Ottawa pays $2.70 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Ottawa Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 73 percent of the $946,048 the Ottawa Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.70 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Ottawa contributed $690,595 to the fund, which saw a $10,187 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $255,453, or 27 percent, in 2016.
