Analysis: Streator pays $6.75 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Streator Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 87.1 percent of the $1,005,437 the Streator Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $6.75 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Streator contributed $875,746 to the fund, which saw a $96,080 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $129,691, or 12.9 percent, in 2016.
