City of Peru Public Services Committee met March 26.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

Committee Members Present: Alderman Dave Waldorf Chairman, Alderman Mike Sapienza and Alderman Ballard. Alderman Jim Lukosus and Mayor Harl absent.

Other Persons Present: City Clerk Dave Bartley, Alderman Payton, Finance Officer Justin Miller, PSM Jeff King, ASM Doug Bernabei, City Engineer Eric Carls, Mike Perry of Chamlin & Associates, Chris Perra of T.E.S.T. and Economic Development Director Bob Vickrey.

Minutes

Chairman Waldorf made a motion to approve Public Services Committee Meeting 3/12/18

Minutes. Alderman Sapienza seconded; motion carried.

Committee discussed various property maintenance concerns and Chief Bernabei reported the new Community Service Officer, Blake Frund, has been very active and will be providing a tracking report.

Water & Sewer

City Engineer Eric Carls stated he received a letter from Robb Schultz, owner Maria s Pizza at 1819 Fourth Street, requesting assistance with repairs of the sewer in the state right-of-way. Mr. Schultz asked for the City s assistance in any way. City Engineer Eric Carls initiated a discussion regarding in the City right-of-way.

City Engineer Eric Carls reported on a meeting with the Division of Aeronautics in Springfield regarding the Deckert hangar. City Engineer Eric Carls stated the meetings were favorable. City Engineer Eric Carls reported the taxiway concurrence forms are forthcoming. City Engineer Eric Carls reported on looking into relocating the AWOS equipment.

Engineering

City Engineer Eric Carls reported on the following:

· Closing out last year s project

· St. John s project to mobilize first

· Interviews for administrative assistant this week

Buildings & Grounds

Committee discussed and recommended quote for 2018 flower pot planter program. ASM

Bernabei reported approximately 80 planters have been positioned and Peru Greenhouse will be prepping, fertilizing, and planting the spring flowers and providing initial watering. Peru Greenhouse will be following up with a second planting in the fall and then clean up.
