City of Ottawa Board of Fire and Police Commissioners met May 11.

David Manigold called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m.
Public Comment
None.
Moved by Ken Brown, second by David Manigold that the minutes of the March 14, 2018 meeting be approved as written. All ayes. Motion passed.
Correspondence
Received the service agreements from F.I.R.E Testing and C.O.P.S. for the upcoming written promotional exams.
New Business
The Board scheduled fire promotional oral exams for Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Fire Station.
The Board scheduled police promotional oral exams as follows:
Saturday September 22, 2018 Corporal
Saturday September 29, 2018 Sergeant and Captain
Old Business
The Board will attend the spring Illinois Fire and Police Commissioners Association (IFPCA) Saturday, May 5, 2018 in Bloomington, Illinois.
Discussion regarding updating the Board’s Rules and Regulations regarding Section 9.1 of the State Statute pertaining to preference points for entry level hiring. To be discussed following attendance at the IFPCA seminar.
