Report: Princeton spent $13,173 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Princeton High School District 500 is up 11 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Bureau County school district spent $11,835 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $13,173 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 555 to 504.

Princeton's spending in 2016-17 was 2 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
