Report: Leland spent $11,936 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Leland Community Unit School District 1 is down 4 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lasalle County school district spent $12,461 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,936 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 298 to 258.

Leland's spending in 2016-17 was 8 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
