Report: Waltham spent $10,638 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Waltham Community Consolidated School District 185 is up 14 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lasalle County school district spent $9,295 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,638 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 231 to 218.

Waltham's spending in 2016-17 was 18 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
