Report: Earlville spent $5,397 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Earlville Community Unit School District 9 is down 47 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lasalle County school district spent $10,185 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $5,397 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 418 to 430.

Earlville's spending in 2016-17 was 58 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
