Report: Seneca spent $24,262 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Seneca Township High School District 160 is down 4 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lasalle County school district spent $25,289 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $24,262 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 476 to 425.

Seneca's spending in 2016-17 was 87 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
