Report: Streator spent $10,270 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Streator Elementary School District 44 is down 3 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lasalle County school district spent $10,609 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,270 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1957 to 1633.

Streator's spending in 2016-17 was 21 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
