Old Business

The City has budgeted $2,500 for planning services with Ed Barsotti – this was for our original Princeton Parks to Parks project. However, the city is applying for another round of funding through the Driehaus Foundation. Below are the five areas of funding that the city is looking to apply for with a $50,000 grant request to Driehaus. The one that pertains to the Pedestrian/Bike Commission is highlighted below.

Rachel has spoken to Ed Barsotti about providing a quote for this type of work and will report back once she hears from him. If anyone else knows of any consultants that might be able to provide a quote for this work, please let Rachel know.

· Design Guidelines

· Trail planning to encourage Hennepin Trail travelers to visit/stay in historic downtown. Heritage tourism with trail travelers.

· Interpretive Signage Planning (digital component?)

· Feasibility study for key properties or upper story (more Airbnb?)

· Possible marketing connected to heritage tourism. Can we market Princeton to Amtrak travelers or along Hennepin?

Attached to these minutes are the new bike rack locations for South Main. At the next meeting the committee can confirm these are the final and correct locations.

We are still waiting to hear back about the grants that we have applied for (People for Bikes, Safe Routes to Parks, ITEP).

The 1st Annual Youth Bike Rodeo is well underway. The date of the event is May 16th and volunteers are needed. More information to come at our next meeting.

New Business

Bike Map collaboration with the Tiskilwa Historical Society and the Barn Quilts of Bureau County was discussed. Annette and Matt have been working on this project.

Bike to Work/School Week activities will take place in May. Perry Memorial Hospital will sponsor this again.

Matt May, Brian Church and Rick Brooks are all attending the Ride Illinois Bike Summit in May.

Menno Haven Camp and Retreat is looking to have a conversation about mountain bike paths. Randy Seneff is willing to set up a meeting to discuss further. Annette will provide more information as it becomes available.

Z Tour has offered the Pedestrian/Bike Commission to have one panel in their Bureau County Tourism Booklet. The commission discussed what should be on this panel and Annette is working with Danielle to get this finalized.

Z Tour is a big event and some members of the commission discussed potentially having a booth or doing something on Friday night to educate people about this commission. Rick offered to take care of providing t-shirts for the group if we had a logo by that time.
