City of Princeton Public Arts Commission met April 17.

4:45 meeting comes to order
Members present: Rick Brooks, Chris Coughlin, Karen Kling, Chuck Major, Sallee Zearing. Representing the city: Rachel Scaggs
Minutes approved as provided.
Nomination of officers:
Cyndi Olson, chairperson, nominated by Chris Coughlin, seconded by Sallee Zearing. Approved.
Rick Brooks, vice-chairperson, nominated by Chris Coughlin, seconded by Sallee Zearing. Approved.
Karen Kling, secretary, nominated by Chris Coughlin, seconded by Sallee Zearing. Approved.
Term length is one year
Term length of commission members are as follows:
Dana Collins, Christine Coughlin and Chuck Major term ends April 30, 2019
Rick Brooks, Cyndi Olson and Sallee Zearing term ends April 30, 2020
Marcie Jaggers, Karen Kling and Jack Olson term ends April 30, 2021
Discussion:
• Change meeting date and time to 3rd Tuesday of the months we meet at 5:30 pm. Next two meetings, Tuesday, June 19 at 5:30 pm and July 17 at 5:30 pm
• Project funding
- Apply for grants
Tourism grants through the Chamber, AARP Community Challenge, National Endowment for the Arts Our Town Grants, Main Street Revitalization through the city and the Starved Rock Country Community Foundation are examples to explore
- Fundraising projects
possibility of a project at Hornbaker Gardens during their Artisan Market September 15, 2018
• Communication
- Contact list is in process of being updated and will be emailed to members
- Chuck Major and Sallee Zearing will set up a g-mail account and a google drive account to allow us to easily communicate with one another and with the community
- Chuck Major will work on creating our Arts Commission logo or other graphic to identify with us
- Marcie Jaggers can then create a Facebook account for the Arts Commision
- Further discussion of potential projects to introduce our commission to the public Meeting adjourned 6:05 pm
