Illinois Valley Community Hospital issued the following announcement on May 29.
Illinois Valley Community Hospital, in cooperation with the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, is sponsoring a free screening for kidney disease and diabetes from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 8, in the IVCH room at Peru Mall.
Screening appointments can be made by calling IVCH at 815-780-4642. Walk-ins will also be welcome.
The screening will include measurements of your blood pressure, blood sugar, body mass index and waist circumference along with a urinalysis and, if necessary, a blood draw. You will also get a chance to talk with a healthcare professional about your results.
One in three American adults is at risk for kidney disease, according to the National Kidney Foundation.
