City of Peru Finance and Safety Services Committee met May 9.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committe:

The Finance & Safety Services Committee Members Present:

Aldermen Potthoff, Ferrari, Radtke and Payton present; Mayor Harl a.

Other Persons Present: City Clerk Dave Bartley, Alderman Sapienza, Human

Resource Manager Kim Reese and Economic Development Director Bob Vickrey.

Matters Discussed

Alderman Ferrari made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 25, 2018 Finance & Safety

Services Meeting. Alderman Payton seconded the motion; motion carried.

The Committee reviewed and approved the disbursements for payment on May 16, 2018.

Presentation

Economic Development Director Bob Vickrey provided a proposal for a drone video for Starved

Rock Country and stated the City of Ottawa is contributing $2,000; City of Streator is contributing $1,000 and the City of LaSalle is not participating. Economic Development Director Bob Vickrey proposed the City of Peru contribute $2,000 with the stipulations. The Committee was in favor.

Human Resource Manager Kim Reese provided the following human resources update:

Active Shooter Training

1st Session tomorrow at 8:15 am in the Community Room

Another Session for Elected Officials needs to be scheduled

oAlderman Radtke asked for clarification of liability exposure in an active shooter event; killed an elected official; member of the gallery

oClerk Bartley will research

Picnic and 5K Postponed

Summer Employment Roster Completed

New Business

Mayor Harl initiated a discussion of naming Happ Drive adjacent to the splash pad. The Committee was in favor.

Closed Session

Alderman Payton made a motion to adjourn. Alderman Ferrari seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 4:52 p.m.
