Princeton Rural FPD responds to 48 fires in 2017

Princeton Rural Fire Protection District responded to 94 calls in 2017 - 2.2 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Princeton Rural included 48 fires - 15 structure fires, 11 vehicle fires and 22 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $507,600 in fire loss - or about $10,575 per fire.

The department also received 45 false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury. Additionally, one fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents.

The Princeton Rural Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $124,122 in 2017.
