Naplate Fire Department responded to six calls in 2017 - 200 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Naplate included five fires - three structure fires, one vehicle fire and one other fire.

In all, the department saw $7,000 in fire loss - or about $1,400 per fire.

The department also received one false call.
