Illinois Valley Community Hospital issued the following announcement on June 28.
Since the National Weather Service is predicting high temperatures and uncomfortable conditions for the Illinois Valley during the next few days, Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru is opening its cafeteria to serve as a cooling center for anyone seeking relief from hot and humid temperatures.
Located on the west side of IVCH, the cafeteria can be entered through the hospital’s West Street entrance during daytime hours. Entry to IVCH after 8 p.m. can be made through the emergency department entrance at the northeast corner of the hospital.
