Hall Township High School District 502 students suspended, expelled 29 times in a single school year

Hall Township High School District 502 reported one expulsions and 28 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 29 students during the year. That equates to 7 percent of the 417 students enrolled.

Students were expelled for one incident with violence without physical injury.

Of the 28 out-of-school suspensions, all of whom were high schoolers.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 16 incidents. There were 10 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 10 incidents, students were suspended for 3-5 days.
