Spring Valley Community Consolidated School District 99 reported 33 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 33 students during the year. That equates to 4.9 percent of the 675 students enrolled.

Of the 13 in-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 13 incidents. For nine incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

Of the 20 out-of-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 19 incidents. There were one incidents of a dangerous weapon, other than a firearm. For seven incidents, students were suspended for 5-10 days.
