Grand Ridge Community Consolidated School District 95 students suspended 18 times in a single school year

Grand Ridge Community Consolidated School District 95 reported 18 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 18 students during the year. That equates to 8.1 percent of the 221 students enrolled.

Of the 16 in-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 15 incidents. There were one incidents of a dangerous weapon, other than a firearm. For 13 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes two incidents. For one incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
