David Manigold called the meeting to order at 11:04 a.m.

Public Comment

None.

Moved by Ken Brown, second by David Manigold to approve the minutes of the August 8, 2018 meeting as written. All ayes. Motion passed.

No Veteran Preference points were submitted for the Fire promotion examination process.

Moved by Ken Brown, second by David Manigold to adopt the Final Fire Captain Promotion Eligibility Register as shown below. This Final register will be mailed to all participants. All ayes. Motion passed.

The police entry level oral examinations will be scheduled for November 30 and/or December 1, 2018, depending on the number of candidates.

Discussion regarding advertising for the upcoming police entry level examination. The information will be posted on IVCC’s job website, which also includes several other colleges, and also on the City website and City Facebook page. The ad will also be posted one time in a local newspaper.

Statue states:

(65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-13) (from Ch. 24, par. 10-2.1-13)

Sec. 10-2.1-13. Notice of examination. Notice of the time and place of every examination shall be given by the board by a publication at least 2 weeks preceding the examination, in one or more newspapers published in the municipality, or, if no newspaper is published therein, then in one or more newspapers with a general circulation within the municipality, except on promotional examinations, notice may be waived in writing by all members of the fire or police department, for which the promotional examination is to be given.
