LaSalle County referendum results mixed

LaSalle County had mixed referendum results on Nov. 6.

Voters favored the Second Amendment Advisory Question: "Shall LaSalle County oppose the passage of any bill where the Illinois General Assembly desires to restrict the Individual right of U.S. Citizens as protected by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution?"

With 100 percent of the votes counted, 25,160 were in favor, and 12,386 opposed the measure.

The voters of the Village of Ransom were asked to decide: "Should hens be allowed to be kept within the Village of Ransom?"

With 100 percent of the votes counted, 81 were in favor, and 29 opposed the proposition.

In regard to a similar question—Should roosters be allowed to be kept within the Village of Ransom?"—with 100 percent of the votes counted, 59 were in favor and 51 opposed the proposition.

City of Streator citizens were asked: “Shall the City of Streator retain the managerial form of municipal government?”

With 100 percent of the votes counted, 2,219 were in favor, and 1,076 opposed the measure.

LaSalle County voters were also asked to decide on the Fieldcrest Community Unit School District No.6,  which did not pass.

The question on the ballot asked: "Shall  the  Board of  Education  of  Fieldcrest  Community  Unit  School  District  Number  6, Woodford,  LaSalle,  Livingston,  and  Marshall  Counties,  Illinois,  build  and  equip  a  school building  located  in  Wenona,  Illinois,  demolish  a  portion  of  the  existing  Fieldcrest  Middle School  Building,  build  and  equip  a  school  building  located  in  Minonk,  Illinois,  demolish the existing Fieldcrest High School Building, improve school sites and issue bonds of said School District to the amount of $29,000,000 for the purpose of paying the costs thereof?" 

With 100 percent of the votes counted, 106 were in favor, and 210 opposed the measure.
