Illinois Valley Community Hospital issued the following announcement on Jan. 14.
A resident of Peru, Freed worked in IVCH’s central scheduling department before her promotion. Before coming to IVCH in 2014, she worked in a management position at Maurice’s at Peru Mall. Other work experience includes three years at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
Freed is responsible for the recruitment and support of the volunteers who belong to the Volunteer Escort Service (the “Red Coats”) and the IVCH Auxiliary as well as volunteers who work in the emergency department, obstetrics unit waiting room, day surgery, the Joint Replacement Center, the Hygienic Institute and elsewhere.
Freed also oversees management of the hospital’s gift shop in addition to supervising the drivers of the hospital’s transportation vans, which are part of the North Central Area Transit System.
