Report: Ohio spent $21,477 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Ohio Community Consolidated School District 17 is up 30 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Bureau County school district spent $16,520 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $21,477 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 78 to 69.

Ohio's spending in 2017-18 was 61 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
