Report: Lostant spent $21,221 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Lostant Community Unit School District 425 is up 41.8 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the La Salle County school district spent $14,969 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $21,221 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 70 to 59.

Lostant's spending in 2017-18 was 59.1 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
