Report: Seneca spent $15,788 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Seneca Community Consolidated School District 170 is up 4.8 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the La Salle County school district spent $15,068 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $15,788 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 506 to 501.

Seneca's spending in 2017-18 was 18.4 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
