Report: Streator spent $10,540 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Streator Elementary School District 44 is down 8.1 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the La Salle County school district spent $11,463 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,540 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1850 to 1591.

Streator's spending in 2017-18 was 21 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
