Analysis: Princeton administrators rank 253rd in state for average pay

Administrators in Princeton High School District 500 earn an average of $108,738 per year, ranking 253rd out of 864 districts in the state, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 8.9% higher than in 2014 and 4.9% lower than in 2009. District administrators make 1.4% more than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Bureau County school district enrolled 531 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 177 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
