A MOTION WAS MADE BY PORTER, SECONDED BY ARGUBRIGHT TO PLACE ON FILE a bid for a 2017 Ford F550 4×4 ambulance for $194,300.00 AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.
A MOTION WAS MADE BY PORTER, SECONDED BY ARGUBIGHT to table a commitment to the IMEA for the Development of a solar farm. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.
Prior to the above motion a discussion occurred. Commissioner Rivara provided a recap of what was happening with the IMEA’s wish to place solar farms at 4 different sites. He said that they were trying to market and negotiate all the sites as a whole. Rivara noted that there are some price increases listed in the correspondences from IMEA and they are looking into it. Commissioner Argubright added that a solar farm would improve the infrastructure and help with redundancy. He also felt it would make us more marketable. Mayor asked Rivara and Argubright what the savings to the City were. Argubright said that the Electric Dept superintendent is working on it. Mayor asked about the green credits that were originally mentioned. Rivara responded those aren’t available any more. Mayor asked about the easement of the property and the property tax collection. Rivara said that the City still owned the land. Rivara thought that the cost would be around $60,000 to the City. But now with it being more expensive we need to look into it. Mayor said he is in support of the project but he would like the questions answered before they commit to something. Porter agreed with Mayor. Rivara said he will ask that a rep from the IMEA attend the next meeting so he is on hand to answer any questions we might have.

Dave Lourie from TEST talked to the council about the water and wastewater treatment plant. He said that TEST is working on an evaluation of the facilities but there are a few things that need immediate attention. They water plants has 2 high services pumps with fixed speeds and they would like to change the drives to a variable speed drive. This would be better on the actual pipes. 2 of the pumps would cost around $15,000. He also talked about the control panel at the plant. Currently it isn’t communicating with the system and they are having to do everything by hand. A new control panel would cost around $15,600.00. In the Spring TEST plans on presenting their evaluation of our facilities and provide the council with a 5, 10, 15 and 20 year improvement plan.

Porter- Commissioner Porter announced that Republic Services will be changing the pick up date for a few sections of town from Thursday pick up to Wednesday starting January 9, 2019. The residents effected will have a note on the trash can the week of Dec 24 and 31st. A map of the changes is available at City Hall.
