The campaign committee of committeewoman candidate Christine Benson, Friends of Chris Benson, returned a $1,000 contribution from David Schroeder on April 17, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Candidates sometimes refuse or return contributions because they do not want their campaign to be affiliated with the donor. Schroeder has not made any other contributions to Christine Benson in the past 12 months.
