City of Lasalle issued the following announcement on April 4.
Please take notice that the Corporate Authorities of the City of La Salle will receive
sealed bids for the potential purchase, under successful bid, of the City of La Salle’s interest in
the following parcel of real property, subject to the City of La Salle reserving in connection with
the potential sale, the right to reserve and protect any utility rights and easements as may exist in
regard to the parcel of real estate; said parcel of real estate includes the following:
A. Real property commonly known as 540 First Street, LaSalle, IL, which property is
presently used as vacant land, which property having a LaSalle County real estate parcel
number of 18-15-333-004 is more particularly described as follows:
All of Lots 2 and 3 in Block 130 in the Original Town of La Salle, in the City of La Salle,
except underlying coal and mining rights; situated in the County of La Salle and State of
Illinois.
Bids for the potential purchase as to the aforesaid City of La Salle’s interest in the above
described parcel of real estate are hereby invited and will be received at the Mayor’s Office at
LaSalle City Hall, 745 Second Street, LaSalle, IL 61301 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and until
3:00 p.m. up to and until 3:00 p.m. on May 6, 2019, the date for the opening of bids. Said
proposals shall be addressed to:

Any bids sent by mail must be received by 3:00 p.m. on May 6, 2019.
Each bid shall bear the legend “Proposal – Sale of 540 First Street” together with the bid
amount, and the name, address and phone number of the bidder. The bidder must provide a
proposed business plan regarding the intended use of the premises, which business plan should
include proposed means of any necessary financing, together with a proposed timeline regarding
completion of the planned, proposed, potential development.
All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud as part of the regular meeting of the Corporate
Authorities of the City of La Salle, which meeting is scheduled to commence at 6:30 p.m. on
May 6, 2019. Any potential sale of said parcel shall be “as is” and again also be subject to the
reservation by the City of La Salle of the City of La Salle’s rights and interest in regard to any
utilities in reference to the existing premises.
In regard to the respective “premises” which shall be again bid on and considered by the City
Council of the City of La Salle, a contract may be awarded to a bidder whose bid in regard to the
respective real estate “premises” is found to be in the best interests of the City of La Salle.
Additionally, the City Council of the City of La Salle, the Corporate Authorities of the City of La
Salle, also reserves the right to reject any and/or all and/or a portion of the bids and to further
waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding. The Corporate Authorities, being the
City Council of the City of La Salle, also respectfully reserves the right to review and study any
and all bids and to make a determination within sixty days after the bids have been opened and
read in the public meeting as to whether to award a contract with such conditions as the City
Council deems appropriate in regard to any bid and/or to reject any and/or all of the bids. Any
potential successful bidder shall also be required to enter into a formal written contract in a form
satisfactory to the City Council of the City of La Salle.
Copies of a general form in regard to a bidding document by be obtained in the Office of the City
Clerk of the City of La Salle, but each and every potential bidder is advised that the bidders will
be required to make their own proposed business plan in accord with the provisions set forth
above.
