Dayton home prices fall in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Dayton fell by $87,000 while total sales increased by 75%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were seven homes sold, with a median sale price of $160,500 - a 35.2% decrease over the $247,500 median sale price for the previous year. There were four homes sold in Dayton in 2016.

The median sales tax in Dayton for 2017 was $3,664. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,522. This marks an increase of 4%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.3%.
