Ottawa home prices rise in August 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in August 2017 in Ottawa rose by $8,250 while total sales remained unchanged with 31 homes sold, according to BlockShopper.com.

In August 2017, there were 31 homes sold, with a median sale price of $133,750 - a 6.6% increase over the $125,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 31 homes sold in Ottawa in August 2016, as well.

The median sales tax in Ottawa for 2017 was $3,169. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,043. This marks an increase of 4.1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.4%.
