City of Ottawa issued the following announcement on May 17.
Commissioner Marla Rodriguez and Commissioner James Less announces a Thornton Park Clean-up day scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2019 starting at 8:00am until 11:00am, sponsored by NUCOR. NUCOR, located in Marseilles is continuing their commitment with environmental programs in communities where they live and continue to be a great partner in enhancing this west side park.
The city seeks assistance from volunteers to join NUCOR employees in this clean-up endeavor. Tasks will include general clean-up, cutting brush and pulling weeds. If possible bring your own gloves, shovels, rake and landscaping tools.
Lunch provided by NUCOR.
Thornton Park is located at 1600 West Jackson Street.
