LaSalle Streets, Alleys and Traffic Committee met March 25.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Chairman Bacidore called the meeting to order at 6:15 p.m.

Present- Alderman Bacidore, Alderman Ptak, Alderman Reynolds, Alderman Herndon, Alderman Sellett

Absent- None

Others Present: Alderman Demes, Alderman Lavieri, Alderman Schneider

A quorum was present.

Brief discussion was held regarding a request to designate a portion of the 800 Block of Second Street as 3 hour parking. The owner of Senior Watchdog, located at the SE corner of 2nd and Joliet stated that her customers, most of whom are elderly, have a difficult time finding parking due to the fact that employees of Turk and Ariva park in the City owned spaces directly south of her location for most of the day. It was suggested by the City Engineer that to remain consistent, the entire block should be designated as 3 hour parking not just the portion of City owned spaces in the berm area. However, the committee unanimously voted to deny the request, as they did not see parking as an issue in this area.

There were no comments or objections from the public.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:21 p.m.
