Q1 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Bureau County?

There were three offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Bureau County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Illinois Valley Times.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Bureau County were men. The median age of the parolees was 38. The youngest parolee was a 34-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2013, and the oldest was a 42-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2016.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Nathan Benavidez. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2013 when he was 28 years old. He is now 34.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each Bureau County municipality.
