Q2 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Bureau County?

There were five offenders released on parole during the second quarter that live in Bureau County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Illinois Valley Times.

The data shows that four men and one woman were released in Bureau County. The median age of the parolees was 32. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 41-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Sara E. Cushman-Cruz. She was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2014 when she was 30 years old. She is now 35.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter in each Bureau County municipality.
