Q2 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Grundy County?

There were nine offenders released on parole during the second quarter that live in Grundy County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Illinois Valley Times.

The data shows that eight men and one woman were released in Grundy County. The median age of the parolees was 36. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017, and the oldest was a 62-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Gerald T. Studyvin. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2014 when he was 25 years old. He is now 30.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
